Joe Tom Womack

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Joe Tom Womack, age 71, was born October 24, 1951 and died August 8, 2023 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, TN following a brief illness.

A retired employee with Walmart, he was the son of the late Noel Womack and Margaret West. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Cindy Bess Womack and brother-in-law, Jim Smith. 

Joe loved gardening, watching John Wayne westerns, playing and watching golf, traveling and bringing joy to other people, especially as Santa Claus.

He was married to Phyllis Womack of McMinnville, TN on May 3, 2009. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Jill Womack (Joshua Beard) of McMinnville, TN; step-daughter, Mary Lee (Eric) Walker of McMinnville, TN; step-sons, William St. John of McMinnville, TN and Tony Cates; grandchildren, Drake Cates, Hannah St. John, Hailey St. John and Jayden St. John; sister, Joye Smith O'Brien of Lexington, KY; special friends, Josh Jones and Gregg Dodd; niece, Marta Smith Scroggin and nephew, Jason Smith.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 2023 in High’s Chapel with Barry Gibbs officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville, TN. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at High Funeral Home.

The family asks that everyone wear red to the funeral.
