Rock Island, TN resident and DeKalb County, TN native Joe Franklin Wilson, age 90, was born May 13, 1934 and died January 14, 2025 at his residence following a short illness.

A retired truck driver and farmer and member of Newtown the Baptist Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Buren Bolden "B.B." and Pearl Keith Wilson. He was married November 9, 1981 to Dorothy Tracy Wilson who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Ricky Joe Wilson and Timmy Hershell Wilson; sisters, Mary, Frances, Ola, Pearl, Sue and Jackie and brothers, Jim, Pete, Dan and Marshall. 

Mr. Wilson is survived by three children, Miles (Pam) Wilson of McMinnville, Gail (Tom) Biro of Port Orange, FL and Barry Wilson (Patricia White) of McMinnville; daughter-in-law, Sonia Wilson of McMinnville; twelve grandchildren, Zachry (Lauren) Biro, Jessica (Jeremy) Paquin, Chris (Connie) Wilson, Stephanie Wilson, Ryan (Shaye) Mason, Blaine Wilson, Evan Wilson, Cody Wilson, Melanie Suero, Amanda (Jeremiah) Buckner, Kayla (Flint) Higgins and Meleah (Jamie) Pitts; twenty great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and special friend, James Parrish of McMinnville.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2025 in High’s Chapel with Darrell Cantrell and Martin Bell to officiate. Interment will follow at Newtown the Baptist Church of Christ Cemetery in McMinnville. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at High’s.
