Joene Mix

Joene Mix, a Spencer, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native was born March 1, 1941 and died May 30, 2021 at her residence following a nine month illness. She was 80 years loved. She was a retired healthcare worker, a member of White Hill Church of Christ, and the daughter of the late Clarence and Ruby Boyd Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Barbara King; brothers, Willis and Kelly Martin; grandson, Trampus Holloway; and stepson, Timmy Mix. Mrs. Mix is survived by husband, Carl Mix of Spencer, TN; two sons, Greg (Robin) Delong of Crossville, TN and Doug Delong of Spencer, TN; daughter, Gigi (Shane) Lewis of Piney, TN; three stepsons, Tom Mix of Bradyville, TN, Dennis (Pat) Mix of Spring Hill, TN, and Chad (Melodie) Mix of Sparta, TN; two stepdaughters, Michelle Mix (Corey) of McMinnville, TN and Tosha (Daniel) Ivy of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Amy Hodges, Alana (Justin) Shores, Carrie (Brian) Braun, Holly (Tommy) Solomon, Stephanie (Joey) McCoy, Crystal (Daniel) Owens, Justin (Rachel) Grissom, Keisha (Matt) Dickerson, Drew Delong, and Dudley Delong; great-grandchildren, Autumn and Jaycee Hodges, Knox Braun, Liam Solomon, Tanika Walters, Tiania Dickerson, Austin and Aiden Holloway, Jacob and Abigal Grissom, Ella, Dash, and Hunter Owens; sisters, Nina Johnson of the Rocky River Community, and Sharon Carter of Spencer, TN; and brother, Ronnie (Carol) Martin of the Rocky River Community. Multiple step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive. Mrs. Mix was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2021 in High’s Chapel with John Leonetti officiating. Burial will follow in White Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at High’s.
