Joey Darrel Johnson

McMinnville, TN resident and Dekalb County, TN native Joey Darrel Johnson, age 56, was born February 22, 1968 and died November 10, 2024 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital following an extended illness.

Joey was the son of the late Willie J. Johnson and Barbara Parsley, an employee with B&R Heating and Air Conditioning and WDG in McMinnville and a member of Dayspring Community Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Randy Davenport and Doug Davenport and sisters-in-law, Patricia Richardson and Donna Eldridge.

Mr. Johnson is survived by wife, Shirley Davenport Johnson of McMinnville; step-children, Casey (Jaime) Serrano and Mark Burgess both of McMinnville; granddaughter, Victoria (Franklin) Wood of McMinnville; great-grandchildren, Kinsley and Karson Wood of McMinnville; three sisters, Sandra (Tony) Bullington, Sherry (Ricky) Goolby and Tammy (Robert) Arceneaux of Lebanon, TN; brother, Jerry Johnson of Scottsville, KY; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carolyn Judkins, Linda and Gary Cooper, Tommy Davenport and Kenneth Davenport; several nieces and nephews and special niece and nephew, Shae Davenport and Josh Davenport.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2024 in High’s Chapel with Rex Boles to officiate. Interment will follow at Providence Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at High’s.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for funeral expenses.
