John Winston Lance

Scottsville, VA resident and Warren County, TN native John Winston Lance, age 87, was born December 23, 1936 and died August 9, 2024 at The Heritage Inn Assisted Living Facility in Charlottesville, VA following a brief illness.

A United States Air Force veteran and member of Great Falls Church of Christ in Great Falls, VA, he was the son of the late Flavil Kermit and Louise Jones Lance. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Toni Turner and Elaine Bailey.

Mr. Lance was married June 1, 1958 to Joann Lattimore Lance of Scottsville who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, James (Cindy) Lance of Scottsville and Michael (Peggy) Lance of Martinsburg, WV; grandchildren, Robert and April and great-grandchildren, Gavin, Caden, Kenneth and Kinleigh.

Graveside service and interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 19, 2024 at Ivy Bluff Cemetery in Warren County with family members to officiate. There will not be any service or visitation held at High's. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
