John Morris Scott

I-30 resident and Warren County, TN native John Morris Scott, age 81, was born November 21, 1941 and died February 26, 2023 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, TN following a brief illness.           

A farmer, nurseryman and member of Blue Springs Cove Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Lincoln and Anna Davey Scott.  He was married to Juanita Scott who preceded him in death on August 4, 2022. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by son, Greg Scott and two brothers, Melvin and Martin Scott.

Mr. Scott is survived by daughter, Rachel (Gary) Hillis of the Centertown community; grandchildren, Shelley Reno of Cookeville, TN and Skyler Scott of Viola, TN; nephew, Nathan (Marsha) Scott of Viola, TN; nieces, Melanie Scott-Welch (Dick) of McMinnville, TN and Marlene Prichard of Alexandria, TN and sister-in-law, Barbara Scott of McMinnville, TN.

Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Riverside Cemetery in Warren County, TN with Gary Newby officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at High’s. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery on Thursday.
