McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County native Johnnie Pearl Morton, age 88, was born August 16, 1936 and died October 12, 2024 at Riverview Terrace following a sudden illness.
A retired owner and operator of Morton's Horticultural Products, she was the daughter of the late John and Eva Whitaker Whiteaker. Mrs. Morton was of the Christian Faith. She was married July 8, 1949 to Ernest Thomas Morton who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death son, Larry W. Morton; brother, George S. Whiteaker and sister, Linda Hinkel.
She is survived by children, Tony L. Morton and Lisa K. Morton both of McMinnville; special son and daughter-in-law, James H. (Joyce) Davis of McMinnville; grandchildren, Teri L. Morton, Trent Morton, Kristi (Melanie) Patterson, Kaci Chilton, Hunter Chilton and Arianna Becerra; great-grandchildren, Parker Nunley, River Chilton and Rynli Mae Roach; sisters, Wanda (Phil) Sherwood of Georgia and Winnie Jones of McMinnville; daughter-in-law, Sonya Morton of McMinnville; several nieces and nephews and special friends at Riverview Terrace.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2024 in High's Chapel. Interment will follow at Faulkner Cemetery in McMinnville. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at High's.
