McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native, Johnny Clarence "J.C." Womack, age 95, was born April 8, 1927 and died January 9, 2023 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville, TN following a brief illness.
A WWII veteran of the United States Army, retired employee of General Motors and a member of Highland Church of Christ, he was the son of the late John and Bessie Blankenship Womack. He was married to Dorothy Jean Carter Womack on August 30, 1947 who preceded him in death on February 1, 2012. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brothers, James Womack and Herbert Womack; sisters, Elizabeth, Beatrice, Cornelius, Alma and Paulett and step-sister, Carolyn Turner.
Mr. Womack is survived by son, Gary T. (Wanda) Womack of Sparta, TN; daughter, Gail (Ralph) Smith of Indiana; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; step-brothers, Kenneth Mason and Billy (Violet) Mason, both of McMinnville, TN; several nieces and nephews and Highland Church of Christ family.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023 in High’s Chapel with Rickey Burks and Eddie Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Warren County, TN. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at High Funeral Home.
Full military honors will be administered by American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064.
