David Cantrell

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County native David Cantrell, age 78, was born September 1, 1946 and died December 11, 2024 at Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro.

He was a United States Army veteran of Vietnam, retired employee of Dezurik and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Cantrell was preceded in death by parents, James Aaron & Lena Myrtle Cantrell; children, Toby Cantrell and Stephanie Bain; mother of his children, Charlotte Cantrell; siblings, James Cantrell, Rose Cantrell, Aaron Cantrell and Elizabeth Luna and two infant siblings.

He is survived by daughter, Trena (George) Tate of McMinnville; grandchildren, Daniel (Marina) Taylor, Aaron (Kelsey) Taylor and Kelcy (Chris) Pepper all of McMinnville and Kylee Cantrell and Courtney Cantrell both of Sparta, TN; eleven great-grandchildren; siblings, Paul (Sally) Cantrell and Silas (Brenda) Cantrell both of McMinnville, Donald (Helen) Cantrell of Woodbury, TN and Ruth Redmon and Louise Rains both of McMinnville.

Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Viola Cemetery with Chris Pepper to officiate. Full military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. There will be no service or visitation at High’s, everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery.
