Judy Diane Payne

McMinnville, TN resident Indianapolis, IN native Judy Diane Payne, age 70, was born March 9, 1954 and died February 24, 2025 at her residence following an extended illness due to Covid since 2022.

She was the retired owner and operator of Loveable Pets and member of Bybee Branch Church of Christ. Ms. Payne was affectionately known as the dog lady. She was preceded in death by husband, Kelly Jennings; granddaughter, Aspyn Young; foster-parents, George and Nonie Grizzell; great-grandparents, Hassie and James Greer and sister, Patricia James.

Ms. Payne is survived by children, Mitzi Hickey (David) and Matt Young (Brittany Smartt) both of McMinnville; five grandchildren, Dyllon Young (Aleksa Rodriguez), Abel Wyatt Young and Kayla, Dillon and Kendra Napier; six great-grandchildren, Bryson Napier, Cameron Sweeney, Addison Napier, Ember Waldrop, Ryder Fults and Haizley Napier; sister, Olivia Leatherwood; brother, Donnie Leatherwood; special aunt, Jackie Shields; several other aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins and special cousins, Gary Grizzell and Greg Grizzell.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2025 in High’s Chapel with Tony Lawrence and Tim Deason to officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at High’s.
