Karen Sue Carden

McMinnville resident and Dunlap, TN native Karen Sue Watson Carden, age 73, was born August 5, 1951 and died January 9, 2025 at Ascension St. Thomas River Park Hospital. 

A former teacher at Dibrell Elementary School, she was the daughter of the late Edd Lee and Mildred Inez Harmon Watson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Edd Watson, Jr.

She was married August 20, 1971 to David Carden of McMinnville, who survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Brent (Joanna) Carden and Mark Carden both of McMinnville; daughter, Millie Carden of McMinnville; grandchildren, Caleb Carden of Cookeville, TN and Ava and Dansby Carden, both of McMinnville; sisters, Linda Rowe and Trena Winkler and brothers, Ronnie Watson and Carson Watson, all of McMinnville.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2025 in High’s Chapel with Don Rigsby officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at High's.
