Katherine Jane "Janie" Stewart

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Katherine Jane “Janie” Stewart, age 70, was born December 15, 1951 and died May 19, 2022 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville, TN following a short illness. Retired director of Cheer Mental Health, a teacher and member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late John T and Katherine Simons Degler. She was married to George William Stewart on November 2, 1969. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Dr. Shawn Stewart. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Stewart is survived by daughter-in-law, Dr. Lisa Beavers of Nashville, TN; two grandchildren, Taylor Stewart Beavers and Lainey Stewart (Levi) Gibson and cousin, Sharon Tanner of McMinnville, TN. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2022 in High’s Chapel with Eben Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Warren County, TN. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at High Funeral Home.
