Kenneth Cleavis Barkes

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Kenneth Cleavis Barkes, age 64, was born August 3, 1959 and died suddenly November 15, 2023 at his residence.            

He was the son of the late Jule Wayne and Dessie Dean Vickers Barkes.  He was married to Tammy Barkes of McMinnville on August 21, 1992. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Wayne Barkes and mother-in-law, Patricia Bishop. 

In addition to his wife, Mr. Barkes is survived by children, Chad Coppinger of McMinnville, Heather Vinson Butner of Virginia and Brandon Barkes and Dynasty Barkes, both of McMinnville; grandchildren, Jenna Craven and Bram Barkes, both of McMinnville and Victoria Butner and Alice Amelia , both of Virginia; sister, Sherry Carr; nephew, Hunter Coppinger; several other nieces and nephews; father-in-law, Lane Coppinger and brother-in-law, Jeff Coppinger. 

Per Mr. Barkes wishes, he will be cremated. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at High's. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help cover expenses.
