Smartt Station resident and Warren County, TN native Lee Earl Lorance, age 93, was born February 29, 1928 and died September 20, 2021 at his residence following an extended illness. A retired machinist from Standard Auto Parts, avid dirt track race car driver, and member of Upper Cumberland Racer Hall of Fame, he was the son of the late Joseph Calvin and Flossie Underwood Lorance. He was married to Claudine Walker on April 9, 1949 who preceded him in death. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Brenda Faye Simmons; granddaughter, Ashley Simmons; brother, Dorse Lorance; and grandson-in-law, Tommy Stiles. Mr. Lorance is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Barbara Lorance of McMinnville, TN; three grandchildren, Christie Stiles (Philip Turner), Lori (Chris) Snow, and Lucian Simmons, all of McMinnville, TN; and four great-grandchildren, Adry Snow, Aryn Snow, Kathryn Stiles, and Caroline Stiles. Graveside inurnment will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Johnny Newby officiating. No service or visitation will be held at High's.
