Leland Leonard Phillips

Rock Island, TN resident and Sturgis, MI native Leland Leonard Phillips, age 86, was born May 7, 1938 and died October 9, 2024 at Manchester Center for Rehabilitation and Healing in Manchester, TN following an extended illness. 

A veteran of the United States Army and retired crane operator with Southern Central Iron and Metal Waste Services, he was the son of the late Myrl and Mildred Gunthorp Phillips. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Margaret Clow and companion, Linda Johnson. 

Mr. Phillips is survived by children, Dale (Laura) Phillips of Sturgis, MI and Andrew Phillips of Burr Oak, MI; grandchildren, Joshua Phillips and Kristina Creech; great-grandchildren, Jude Phillips, Charlotte Creech and Greyson Creech; sister, Janet Shears of Sturgis, MI and several nieces and nephews. 

Mr. Phillips will be cremated. No service or visitation will be held at High’s.
