Lloyd Francis Roberts 96, a resident of Avon, Indiana and Warren County, TN native, passed away at his home surrounded by family on January 3, 2022, just shy of his 97th Birthday after a short illness. Lloyd lived a simple life and sought ordinary pleasures of daily living. He retired from General Motors after 30 years. He served in the United States Army during WWII 5/8/1943 – 11/13/1945 & 11/14/1945 – 11/13/1948. He loved playing his guitar and singing country music, taking long car rides and fishing as often as he could. He loved home cooked, southern meals and Gray Brothers Cafeteria Strawberry Pie. Lloyd was the son of the late Irving & Ethel (Quick) Roberts of Warren County, TN. He is preceded in death by his wife of over 69 years, Wanda Louise (McCormick) Roberts; Brothers: Vinson V. Roberts, Burton Eugene Roberts, Aunt Viola Quick, all of whom are buried at Crain Hill Cemetery, Van Buren County, TN. Grandson: John (Carolyn) Tarwacki of South Bend, IN. Lloyd is survived by his children: F. Diane (Steve) Loomis of Indianapolis, IN, D. Wayne (Kathy) Roberts of Avon, IN, Rhonda (Steve) Patterson of Brownsburg, IN, Viki (Todd) McEwen of Pittsboro, IN, Dollie (Dean) Frick of South Bend, IN. Grandchildren: Amy (Richard) Loomis-Wanjema of Ft. Wayne, IN, Leslie Roberts of Greenwood, IN, Tracy (Chris) Snyder of Brownsburg, IN, Brian (Melissa) Patterson of Indianapolis, IN, Jessica McEwen (Bryan Dean) of Brownsburg, IN, Justin Roberts of Avon, IN, Kurt Tarwacki of South Bend IN and Susan Michael (Family). Great Grandchildren: Kendra Snyder, Tyler Snyder, Evan Risner, Addie Roberts, Aamiyah McEwen, Emma Dean, Brooke Patterson, Brynna Patterson, Sesily Wanjema, Rose Wanjema. Great-Great Grandchildren: Paisley Snyder, Draco Risner. Extended Family: Harry (Sally) McCormick, Franklin McCormick, Norman McCormick, Nolan McCormick, Jimmy (Debbie) McCormick, Eddie (Susan) McCormick, and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service and inurnment will be held at Crain Hill Cemetery, Van Buren County, TN with full military honors administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
