Lois Jean Grissom

Rock Island, TN resident and Nashville, TN native Lois Jean Grissom, age 84, was born February 5, 1935 and died November 7, 2019 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville following an extended illness. A registered nurse and nurse practitioner with the Warren County Health Department and a member of Harmony Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Evelyn Potter. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvie and Auby Potter; and three sisters, June Potter, Stella Potter and Ruth Rogers. She was married on August 3, 1957 to Gordon Grissom of the Bone Cave Community. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward A. and Kim Grissom of Madison, AL and Del and Ellen Grissom of Knoxville, TN; four grandchildren, Alice Grissom, Alan Grissom, Claire Grissom and Ethan Grissom; five sisters, Liz Armstrong, Shirley Baker, Reba Simmons, Charlotte Potter and Lisa Potter; two brothers, Steve Potter and Tommy Potter; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members also survive. A graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2019 in Long Cemetery with Bob McCoy officiating. There will be no visitation at High's.
