Maggie Roberta Gilbert Parmley, age 85, a McMinnville, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native was born June 12, 1936 and died September 2, 2021 at Ascension St. Thomas River Park Hospital following an extended illness. She was retired from Magnatek as a motor winder technician, a member of Bybee Branch Church of Christ, and the daughter of the late John Anderson and Maude Lou Thomison Gilbert. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Nulin Eugene Parmley; sisters, Vera (Tommy) Bouldin, Juanita (Olyn) Taylor, Sr., Beatrice (Eston) Evans, Beulah (Nolan) Evans, and Lucille (Calvin) Van Winkle; brother, Billy (Jeanetta) Gilbert; and brother-in-law, J.C. Warner. Mrs. Parmley is survived by daughter and spouse, Tracey (William) Brown of McMinnville, TN; three grandchildren, Shelby (Trent) Hampton of Morrison, TN, Kendra (Garrett) Arnold, and Gracey Brown both of McMinnville, TN; three great-grandchildren, Owen Arnold, Autumn Hampton, and Sophie Hampton; brother and spouse, Lloyd (Mildred) Gilbert of Van Buren, TN; sisters and spouses, Sylvia (Gene) Brock of Spencer, TN, Wanda Warner of Crossville, TN, and Rachel (Monroe) Oakes of Rock Island, TN; and special friend, Barbara Vinson. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Coalmont Cemetery in Grundy County with Tim Long and Tony Lawrence officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at High's. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels.
