Marilyn Joyce Byars

McMinnville, TN resident and Lake County, IN native Marilyn Joyce Byars, age 72, was born July 6, 1949 and died August 20, 2021 at her residence following an extended illness. A homemaker, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Helen Marie Carrel Gilmore. She was married to Carl Edward Byars who preceded her in death in 1976. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sister, Carolyn McWhirter and brothers, Charles, Robert, Floyd, Kenny, Jack, and Tommy Gilmore. Mrs. Byars is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Becky Byars of McMinnville, TN; three grandchildren, Victoria, Carly, and Paul David Byars, all of McMinnville, TN; sister, Patty Reid of Indiana; and “special sister", Brenda Bennett. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 23, 2021 in High’s Chapel with Joe Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville, TN.
