McMinnville, TN resident and Goodlettsville, TN native, Martha Joann Leslie Trotman Ballard, age 91, was born July 16, 1931 and died September 17, 2022 at her residence following an extended illness. A retired assistant editor from Ingram Book Company, member of the First Baptist Church and member of McMinnville Chapter #349 Order of the Eastern Star, she was the daughter of the late W.D. and Rosa Whiteside Leslie. She was married to the late Joe Ewing Trotman, Sr. and the late William Tommy Ballard. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by son, Joe Ewing “Jody” Trotman, Jr. and sisters, Peggy Dailey and Mary D. Leslie. Ms. Ballard is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Leslie Steven (Sherry) Trotman of McMinnville, TN; step-son, Chris Ballard; five grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Reba Kent of Nashville, TN; four nieces and two nephews. Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Goodlettsville, TN with Chad Phelan officiating. There will be no visitation or service at High Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to McMinnville Chapter #349 Order of the Eastern Star or McMinnville First Baptist Church.
