McMinnville resident and Van Buren County, TN native Marvin Emmett Kell, Jr., age 101, was born February 14, 1923 and died April 21, 2024 at Willow Branch Health and Rehabilitation in McMinnville.
A WWII veteran of the United States Navy, retired employee of Genesco and member of Central Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Marvin Emmett and Ova Simmons Kell, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Mike Kell; sister, Mary Jo Elrod and brother, Jimmy Kell.
He was married to Thelma Kell of McMinnville on October 19, 1946. In addition to his wife, Mr. Kell is survived by two grandsons, Bryan (Kristen) Kell of McMinnville and Jeremy (Penny) Kell of Murfreesboro, TN; three great-grandchildren, Shelbi (Brock) Watson, Logan (McClain) Kell and Phoebe Kell; two great-great-grandchildren, Trivett and Jace Watson; brother, Henry Nelson (Irene) Kell of Aurora, CO; niece, Beverly Lavender of Rock Island, TN; several other nieces and nephews and daughter-in-law, Vickie Kell of McMinnville.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2024 in High’s Chapel with Doug Bost officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
