McMinnville, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native Mary Jo Johnson, age 76, passed away February 5, 2022 in Willow Branch Health and Rehabilitation following an extended illness. A retired seamstress with Levi’s and member of the Campaign Church of God, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Hassie Yates Sullivan. Mrs. Johnson was married to Robert Houston Johnson on June 16, 1972 who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Emogene Hamrick, Lillian Young, Louise Young and Bonnie Hale. Mrs. Johnson is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, William Stacy and Judy Keel of Van Buren County, Trad Houston Johnson and Jarvis and Stephanie Johnson all of McMinnville; grandchildren, Treven James Houston Johnson and Alyssa Naomi Johnson; brothers and sisters-in-law, James Sullivan of Van Buren County, Danny and Betty Sullivan, Lester and Sue Sullivan, Chester and Wanda Sullivan, Clyde Jr. and Brenda Sullivan and Bobby and Wilma Sullivan all of McMinnville; and several nieces, nephews and church friends. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2022 in High’s Chapel with Jarvis Johnson to officiate. Interment will follow in Laurel Creek Cemetery in Van Buren County. Visitation will be Monday 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at High’s. High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
