Mary Knowles Rubley

Irving College Community resident and Warren County native Mary Charles Knowles Rubley, age 76, was born May 31, 1945 and died July 11, 2021 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital following a sudden illness. A retired secretary with Irving College Elementary School and member of St. Mary's Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Charles "Doc" and Dessie Hicks Knowles. She was married June 26, 1971 to Jack Rubley who preceded her in death December 3, 2012. Mrs. Rubley is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline and David Hitchcock of McMinnville; two grandsons, Grant Hitchcock and Ethan Hitchcock both of McMinnville; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Diane Knowles of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Rubley was a devoted wife and loving mother and her most important role in life was Nana to Grant and Ethan. She was a member of Midway FCE Club and Farm Bureau Women. She enjoyed scrapbooking, planting flowers and Warren County Pioneer Basketball. A graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Mt. View Cemetery with Greg Rains and Wayne Cantrell officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at High's. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Warren County Rescue Squad or Potter Children's Home both c/o High's. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
