Mary Ruth Davis

Morrison, TN resident and Coffee County, TN native Mary Ruth Davis, age 94, was born October 2, 1928 and died September 4, 2023 at her residence following a short illness.           

A former employee of Carrier Corp. and a member of Morrison Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Louise Russell McMahan. She was married to John Paul Davis on November 23, 1947 who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son, John Timothy Davis; daughter, Sherry Davis Hallum; three brothers, James Russell MaMahan, Walter Leighton McMahan and Gary McMahan; sister, Billie Helen Haske and many other special family members. 

Mrs. Davis is survived by two grandchildren, Jill H. Mullican (Felix Jimenez) of St. Albans, VT and John Marshall Davis (Madison Smartt) of McMinnville, TN; great-grandson, Ben Mullican; three sisters-in-law, Marsha McMahan of Coffee County, TN, Lisa McMahan of Nashville, TN and Betty Lou Davis of Lowell, AR; aunt, Violet McMahan and several nieces and nephews. 

Graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Shady Grove Cemetery in Coffee County, TN with Chris Perry officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at High’s. 

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to FC Boyd Christian School or the Gospel Broadcasting Network.
