Melanie Anne Scott-Welch

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Melanie Anne Scott-Welch, age 75, was born August 13, 1949 and died October 26, 2024 at Willow Branch Health and Rehabilitation following an extended illness.  

A homemaker and member of First United Methodist Church, she was the daughter of Barbara G. Scott of McMinnville and the late Melvin E. Scott.  In addition to her father, Melanie was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Oren R. and Beatrice G. Garrett and paternal grandparents, Lincoln L. Scott and Ruby M. Dawdy. 

She was married September 14, 1974 to Dick Scott-Welch of McMinnville. In addition to her husband and mother, Mrs. Scott-Welch is survived by a brother, Nathan (Marsha) Scott of McMinnville; aunt, Jane Stubblefield of McMinnville; nephew, Martin Scott of McMinnville; niece, Marian S. (Jason) Norris of Manchester, TN; great-niece and great-nephew, Adie Norris and Eamon Norris of Manchester, TN and cousins, David Stubblefield of Madison, AL, John Stubblefield, Paul Stubblefield and Rachel Crouch, all of McMinnville and Marlene Prichard of Alexandria, TN. 

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2024 in High's Chapel with John Vaughan officiating.  Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday and 10:00 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at High's.
