Melba Anita Slaughter, age 76, a Warren County, TN resident and Van Buren County native was born October 5, 1942 and passed away December 1, 2018 at her residence following a long battle with cancer.She was a retired employee of First National Bank, member of the Baptist Church and daughter of the late Loyd and Jewell Hillis Shockley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Myron Shockley and sister-in-law, Brenda Shockley.Survivors include two children, Amy Orrick and Dustin Slaughter both of McMinnville; four grandchildren, Carissa Lee, Brittany Suydam, Benjamin Orrick and Jeremy Orrick; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Marvin Shockley of Rock Island. Nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2018 in High’s Parlor with Lee Diller to officiate. Interment will follow in Long Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and 8:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service at High’s.Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.comHigh Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
