Mrs. Monice Ruth Green McGiboney, age 91, of Rock Island and McMinnville, Tennessee, died Wednesday, July 14, 2021. She was born on July 1, 1930 in Dibrell Tennessee. She is a 1948 graduate of Central High School. She also completed her Associate’s degree from Nashville Business College while rooming at Central Church of Christ Girls’ Home in Nashville Tennessee. Monice wore many hats in her lifetime. She was a retired bookkeeper, dairy farmer’s wife, and Postmaster of Campaign Post Office. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ. She was a 4-H member, Volunteer Leader of 4-H, and the Warren County Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee. Monice was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William Olan McGiboney; her parents, John Freeland Green and Estella Webb Green; four brothers; and four sisters. She is survived by her children, Bruce Jeffrey McGiboney (Mary Jane) of Herndon, VA, Eva Joyce McGiboney Britton (David) of McMinnville, TN, and Cheryl Renee McGiboney Campbell (Presley) of Huntsville, AL; her grandchildren, Ann Marie McGiboney Rocha (Joe) of El Paso, TX, Bruce Jeffrey McGiboney Jr. of Herndon, VA, Virginia Suzanne McGiboney of Arlington, TN, William Davey Britton (Emily) of Eagleville, TN, Marler McGiboney (Mac) Britton (Whitney) of Woodbury, TN; three great grandchildren, Sandro Rocha, Behr Warren Britton, and Rudy Olan Britton. Monice is also survived by a nephew, Craig Green and son, Marty, and her nieces Wanda Rogers Alexander, Linda Rogers Curtis, and Teri Green. In lieu of flowers Monice requested donations be made to Central Church of Christ Beds Program, Tiny Homes Project for the Homeless, or Asbury Cemetery Trust. The family wishes to express a special thank you for the caregivers and staff of Willow Branch Health and Rehabilitation Center for the excellent care provided to their mother and the assistance and comfort to the entire family. Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in High’s Chapel with Doug Bost and Steve Stubblefield officiating. Burial will follow in Asbury Cemetery in Rock Island, TN.
