McMinnville, TN resident and Campaign, TN native Myrtle Frances Kirby, age 86, was born May 22, 1936 and died September 22, 2022 at Willow Branch Health and Rehabilitation Center in McMinnville, TN following an extended illness. A retired bus aid for Putnam County School System and a member of Stevens Street Baptist Church in Cookeville, TN, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Mary Frances Rowland Hale. She was married to the late Smithy G. Kirby. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters-in-law, J.N. Hale and Modene Hale and M.R. Hale and Evelyn Hale; sisters, Brinda Hale and Nancy Vickers; brother-in-law, Malcolm Simpson; nephew, Jeff Hale and great-nephew, Dylan Kuhn. Ms. Kirby is survived by sisters, Peggy Ward (Joe) of Manhattan Beach, CA and Linda Simpson of McMinnville, TN; brother-in-law, Tom Vickers of Collierville, TN and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Friendship Cemetery in Warren County, TN with Phillip Rowland officiating. Visitation will be Friday, September 30, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 1, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at High Funeral Home.
