Nancy Carolyn Prater Higginbotham

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Nancy Carolyn Prater Higginbotham, age 80, was born September 2, 1941 and died December 30, 2021 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A retired circulation clerk with the Southern Standard and a member of New Union United Methodist Church, she was the daughter of the late Charles L. and Pauline Neal Prater. She was married to her husband of 59 years, Billy Wayne Higginbotham on November 22, 1962. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Glyndia Dodson Bass and sisters-in-law Betty Higginbotham, Mary Ellen Roberts, and Eva (Carson) Keathley. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Higginbotham is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Holly (Lane) Cantrell of McMinnville; grandchildren, Trey (Emma) Cantrell and Tucker Cantrell all of McMinnville; brother, Charles Timothy Prater of McMinnville; sisters-in-law Brenda Hayes and Jenny Higginbotham and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2022 at New Union Cemetery on Highway 30 in Warren County with Michael Hale officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday at High’s. There will be no visitation Monday prior to the graveside service, and friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery.
