Nickie Dwayne Smartt

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County native Nickie Dwayne Smartt, age 68, was born November 22, 1953 and died February 1, 2022 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville following an extended illness. A retired employee with McMinnville Mfg., he was the son of the late R.T. and Sammy Faye Northcutt Smartt. He was married to Linda Seibers Smartt on March 3, 1973 who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by son, Dwayne Smartt; brothers, Melvin, Jimmy, Charles, and Lyndon Smartt; one infant brother and sisters, Wanda Bouldin, and Brenda Smartt. Mr. Smartt is survived by daughter, Denise Wanamaker of McMinnville, TN; three grandchildren, Faith Willet, Destiny Wanamaker, and Riley Wanamaker all of McMinnville, TN; two great-grandchildren, Zayn and Ady J. Willett; sisters and brother-in-law, Donna and James Hampton, and Patricia Campbell all of Grundy Co.; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Patricia Smartt of McMinnville, TN; several nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Smartt enjoyed numerous activities such as caving, playing rook, auctions, and family time. Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2022 at Northcutt Cove Cemetery in Warren County, TN. No service or visitation will held at High’s.
