McMinnville resident and Warren County native O.M. Womack, Jr, age 91, was born December 16, 1928 and passed away at his home on March 29, 2020. O.M. was the son of the late Orion Monroe Sr. and Ollie Ray Glenn Womack and raised in the Highland Community. He was married August 28, 1948 to Mary Ruth Starnes Womack who preceded him in death in 1986. He was also preceded in death by daughter, Linda King; son, Larry Womack, and brother C.N. Womack. Mr. Womack was an educator, coach, and principal at Morrison School from 1951-1971. He was also a successful businessman who operated McMinnville and Warren County Freight Lines, Womack Motor Company, First Choice Pawn Shop, as well as several restaurants. He served as an alderman for the City of McMinnville and was a board member for McMinnville Electric System. He enjoyed golfing with friends. Mr. Womack was a member of Westwood Church of Christ and in recent years he attended services at Pleasant Cove where his grandson, Justin King, is the minister. O.M. is survived by his grandchildren, Justin King, Jennifer and Matt Richey, Grant Monroe Womack and Anna Ruth Womack; son-in-law, Barry King; great-grandchildren, Dylan Barnes, Annie, Easton, and Aven King; great-great grandson, River Griffith, and devoted companion, Shelia Davidson all of McMinnville. Graveside service and interment will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Mt. View cemetery in Warren County with Justin King officiating. Family and friends are to meet at cemetery.
