Opale Evans Campbell

Opale Evans Campbell, age 79, a Smartt, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native, was born June 12, 1942 and died November 16, 2021 at Ascension St. Thomas River Park Hospital following a brief illness. She was a retired educator with the Warren County School System, a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, and the daughter of the late Nolan and Beulah Gilbert Evans. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Ronnie Evans. Mrs. Campbell is survived by her husband of 58 years, Billy Campbell of Smartt, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Bill Rife of Spencer, TN; two grandchildren, Kiefer Curtis and Chanah (Anthony) Nickles; nephew, Ronnie (Teresa) Evans of McMinnville, TN; niece, Tammy (Roger) Byars of McMinnville, TN; great-niece, Meagan (Robert) Welch; great-nephew, K.C. Byars; great-great-niece, Annabelle Rose Welch; great-great-nephew, Oliver Welch; and sister-in-law, Betty Evans Boles. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2021 in High’s Chapel with Phil Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at High’s.
