Peggy Jane Slaughter

Peggy Jane Cantrell Slaughter, age 83, a McMinnville resident and Warren County native was born February 26, 1936 and passed away November 16, 2019 at her residence following an extended illness. A homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Ogle Cantrell. She was married June 13, 1953 to Charles Lawson Slaughter who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brother, Leo Cantrell of Chattanooga, TN. Mrs. Slaughter is survived by two sons, Charles David (Shannon) Slaughter of Rock Island, TN and Hugh (Sherry) Slaughter of McMinnville, TN; two daughters, Pam (Robert) Thompson of McMinnville, TN and Mary Ann (Ricky) Cox of McMinnville; ten grandchildren, Kelly & Andrew West, Joshua & Renee Thompson, Anna Beth & Matt Cowan, Emaly & Brandon Johnson, Hollie & Allen Dodd, Jesse & Brooke Slaughter, Chris & Kelly Slaughter, Zach Slaughter, Gavin Slaughter and Braelin Slaughter; five great-grandchildren, Walker Slaughter, Leslie Dodd, McKayla Dodd, Carson Dodd, and Catherine Cowan; sister, Jamie Cantrell Griffith of McMinnville, TN and brother, Roy Cantrell of McMinnville, TN. Graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, November 18, 2019 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at Gardens of Memory Cemetery for the graveside at 12:00 noon.
