Peyton R. Terry

Viola, TN resident and Clay County, TN native Peyton R. Terry, age 81, was born December 6, 1940 and died September 28, 2022 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville, TN following an extended illness. A veteran of the United States Army, retired Greyhound bus driver and member of Covenant Fellowship Church, he was the son of the late James W. and Tribbie Grace Overstreet Terry. He was married to Clara Mozelle Terry of Viola, TN on May 28, 1966. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Catherine Luongo; brothers, James, Frank, Ned and Don Walker and nephews, Vinkey Terry and Bruce Terry. In addition to his wife, Mr. Terry is survived by son, Clinton David Terry of Viola, TN; nieces, Jackie Smith of McMinnville, TN and Katie Luongo of Boston, MA and numerous other nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 1, 2022 in High’s Chapel with Dr. Dean Northcutt officiating. Burial will follow at Viola Cemetery in Warren County, TN.
