Rachel Lynn Hillis

February 28, 1968 — January 2, 2024

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Rachel Lynn Hillis, age 55, was born February 28, 1968 and died January 2, 2024 at her residence following an extended illness.            

A retired social worker for Warren County Health Department and a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, she was the daughter of Linda Scott of McMinnville and the late John Morris Scott. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by first husband, Troy Reno; brother, Greg Scott and great-granddaughter, Makenzie Poe.

She was married to Gary Hillis of McMinnville on May 24, 1997. In addition to her mother and husband, Mrs. Hillis is survived by daughter, Shelley Reno of Rock Island, TN; six step-children; twenty one grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and nephew, Skylar Scott of McMinnville. 

Graveside service and interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2024 at New Union Cemetery in Warren County with Pastor David McMinn officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at High’s. No visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday and family and friends will meet at the cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels.
