Murfreesboro, TN resident and DeKalb County, TN native Ralph Walter Pedigo, age 81, was born August 20, 1937 and died May 7, 2019 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Pedigo was a mechanical engineer with AEDC and also at Cape Kennedy, where he was especially proud to be on the launch control panel of the Apollo 11 mission. He was a United States Army veteran with the Security Agency and a member of New Union United Methodist Church. He was the son of the late Wesley and Mary Moore Pedigo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Dr. Thurman Pedigo; and sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Wayne Caviness. He was married on July 26, 1969 to Ray Nell Foster Pedigo of Murfreesboro, TN. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Tim Pedigo and wife Lise of Murfreesboro, TN and Heather Pedigo of Nashville, TN; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Lucy and Michael Pedigo; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Evelena and Mark Ashburn of Smithville, TN and Virginia and Gary Newby of Sparta, TN; brother, Charles Johnson of McMinnville; sister-in-law, Jeanne Pedigo of Georgia; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Malinee and Jim Crawford of Ormond Beach, FL; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019 at New Union United Methodist Church with Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in New Union Cemetery, Hwy. 30 with military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at High’s and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church.
