Richard Calvin Watts

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Richard Calvin Watts, age 78, was born March 11, 1944 and died February 27, 2023 at his residence following an extended illness.           

A Tennessee Army National Guard veteran, retired machinist with Textron and a member of East End Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Vester and Addie Mae Wright Watts. He was married to Linda Sue Watts on October 23, 1965, who preceded him in death on November 6, 2014. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brother, James Lewis Watts.

Mr. Watts is survived by daughter, Michele (Rodney) Myers of McMinnville, TN; son, Michael (Cynthia) Watts of McMinnville, TN; grandchildren, Dylan Myers, Erika (Alex) Simmons, Rachel (Conner) McBroom, Kristian (James) Hopkins and Micah Watts; great-grandchildren, Ethan Watts and Brantlee, Talan, Luke and Maxine Simmons; brother, Donald (Cathy) Watts of Douglassville, GA; sister, Judy Wherley of McMinnville, TN and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2023 in High’s Chapel with Kevin Key and Chris Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Shellsford Cemetery in Warren County, TN. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at High Funeral Home.
