Robbie Neely Prater, age 70, a Warren County, TN resident and White County native was born October 20, 1948 and passed away January 30, 2019 in St. Thomas West Hospital following a brief illness. She was a retired educator with the Cannon County School System, member of the Catholic Church and daughter of the late Robert and Beulah Rowland Neely. Mrs. Prater was a life-long democrat and fan of Auburn Football, member of the Hickory Creek Chapter of FCE and East End Quilters. She loved gardening and her cats. Mrs. Prater was married January 21, 1967 to James David Prater who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son, Ira Darby Prater; brother and sister-in-law, Mack Timothy Neely and Betty Dodd Neely; and brother, Charles Edgar Neely. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, David Shane and Sheryl Prater of McMinnville; granddaughter, Madeline Grace Prater; grandsons, Regan Darby Prater and Riley Shane Prater; nieces and spouses, Tammy Neely Lance and Kenneth Lance of Bellevue, TN and Jayne and Perry Norman of Martinez, GA; and great-nephew, Andrew Lance of Bellevue. Many beloved friends, cousins, co-workers and former students also survive. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019 in High's Chapel. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at High's. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, where she volunteered for many years and made many special memories and friends, or the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial Fund.
