McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Robert "Bob" Molloy, age 91, was born January 3, 1927 and died July 14, 2018 at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, TN following an extended illness.A retired electronics instructor with Vo-Tech, a United States Navy veteran of WWII, and a member of Christ Community Church, he was the son of the late James Logan and Elfleda Lowry Molloy. He was married on March 3, 1945 to Dorothy Lee Hall Molloy who preceded him in death on December 2, 2016. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by eleven siblings.He is survived by three children and their spouses, Gary and Peggy Molloy of McMinnville, Sherry and Donald Vinson of McMinnville, and Patrick Molloy of Nashville, TN; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.Mr. Molloy was an avid craftsman. He was a woodworker on everything from boats to furniture. He built a canoe that won a National first prize in a competition. He built a full-size airplane that he flew regularly. The plane attracted National attention for workmanship. He was a founding member of the McMinnville Flying Club and the local Rescue Squad. For the last several years, he was active in the local PSU.A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in High's Chapel with Paul Roberts officiating. Military rites will be administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173 at High's. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service Saturday at High's.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Nashville Rescue Mission or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
