Rodney Schlimmer

McMinnville, TN resident and Wilbur, Washington native Rodney Schlimmer, age 80, was born May 10, 1941 and died February 20, 2022 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville following a sudden illness. Veteran of the United States Air Force, retired network operations manager for Ben Lomand Telephone, member of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) and a member of the Presbyterian church, he was the son of the late Roger and Florence Lydia Zimbelman Schlimmer. He was married to Linda Marguerite Rowland Schlimmer on February 25, 1967 who preceded him in death on June 16, 2021. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brother, Clark Schlimmer. Mr. Schlimmer is survived by daughter and son-in-law, June-Ellen and Jimmy Blanks of Tullahoma, TN; one grandson, Dean Blanks of Tullahoma, TN; one sister and brother-in-law, Laurel and Clay Iverson of Edmonds, WA; nephews and spouses, Todd and Jamie Burns of Washington and Chad and Jennifer Glasener of Manchester, TN; nieces and spouses, Shawn and Gordon Fraing and Megan and Dan Hicks, both of Washington; sister-in-law, Barbara Schlimmer of Odessa, Washington; brother-in-law, Wayne Simons of Murfreesboro, TN and numerous cousins and in-laws also survive. Per Mr. Schlimmer’s wishes, he will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2022 in High’s Chapel with Jerry Womack officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at High’s. Full military honors will be administered by American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064.
