Sally Frances Jackson Shelton, age 88, a McMinnville, TN resident and Eagleville, TN native, was born May 14, 1932 and died January 17, 2021 at Erlanger Medical Center following a brief illness. She was a retired car dealer and homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church, and the daughter of the late Horace and Elizabeth Rosson Jackson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Joe Powell Shelton; sisters, Betty Jackson, and Marie Summers Kerr; and nephew and wife, Jon and Janet Summers. Mrs. Shelton is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Libby Shelton and Lynn and Stan “Butch” Bullen, both of McMinnville, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Donna Shelton, Jr. of McMinnville, TN; six grandchildren, Lindsey (Jon) Kidd, Lauren (Mark) Hitchcock, Grant Bullen, LaraLynn (Nick) Goodman, Thomas Jackson “T.J.” Shelton, and Emma Grace Shelton; five great-grandchildren, Caroline Kidd, Hudson and Hunter Hitchcock, Scarlett and Walker Goodman; guardian of, Jim (Deborah) Summers, David (Becky) Summers, and Lisa (David) Pirie; two sisters-in-law, Mary Shelton of Knoxville, TN and Jane Shelton of Nashville, TN. Several special nieces and nephews also survive. Pall Bearers will be Grant Bullen, T.J. Shelton, Butch Bullen, Nick Goodman, Mark Hitchcock, and Jon Kidd. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Jimmy Summers, Dr. Spencer Summers, Branson Summers, Jared Summers, and Wesley Summers. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2021 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the church. No visitation will be held at High’s. The family request that everyone wear mask and practice social distancing.
