Sara Jean Holt Cantrell

Dibrell Community resident and Warren County native Sara Jean Holt Cantrell, age 82, was born September 18, 1941 and died August 4, 2024 at her residence following an extended illness.  

A retired cafeteria manager with Dibrell Elementary School and member of Bluff Springs Church of Christ, she attended Arlington and Berea Churches of Christ.  She was the daughter of the late Eldon and Bessie Walker Holt.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Karly Wanamaker;  son-in-law, Michael Wanamaker;  brother, J.T. (Betty) Holt;  sister, Margaret (J.T.) Chisam and infant siblings, Barbara Joyce Holt and Bobby Jewell Holt.

Mrs. Holt was married December 24, 1961 to Douglas Cantrell of the Dibrell Community.  In addition to her husband, Mrs. Cantrell is survived by five children, Karla Cantrell Wanamaker, Karon (Jared) Kennamer and Allen (Kami) Cantrell all of McMinnville, Christoper Cantrell of the Dibrell Community and Tonya Cantrell Rains of McMinnville;  eleven grandchildren, Bobby (Brittany) Cantrell, Heather Chandler, Justin (Beth) Wanamaker, Kayla (Charlie) Tollison, Cody Bond, Karlin (Jordan) Young, Aniston Cantrell, Grace Rains, Kaydee Rains, Lily Rains and Kryslyn Cantrell;  twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Faye (Terry) Womack of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2024 in High's Chapel with Richard Bowman and Eugene Adkins officiating. Interment will follow at Webb Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be held Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at High's.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
