McMinnville resident and San Antonio de los banos Habana, Cuba native Sergio Serrera, Jr., age 30, was born September 29, 1993 and died suddenly on February 21, 2024. A certified nuclear medicine technologist and certified x-ray technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) with Vanderbilt University Medical Center and member of Bates Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Warren County Lions Club. He was the son of Sergio Serrera Perez and Mairim Blanco Guzman of McMinnville. He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Sergio Serrera Amoros. In addition to his parents, Mr. Serrera is survived by maternal grandparents, Facunda Miriam Guzman Bencomo and Oreste Godoy Blanco; paternal grandmother, Maria Aurora Perez; uncle, Oreste Blanco Guzman; aunts, Lien Romero Peres and Niurka Romero Peres, all of Cuba; much loved American family, Susie and the late Bob Davenport of McMinnville and many other special family, friends and co-workers. Funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2024 in High’s Chapel with Hector Labrada and Robby Black officiating. Burial will be held at Cementerio Municipal Alquizar in Alquizar, Artemisa, Habana, Cuba. Visitation will be Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
