Sharon Kay Hollis Sparkman

Doyle, TN resident and Kewanee, IL native Sharon Kay Hollis Sparkman, age 78, was born September 9, 1943 and died January 13, 2022 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville, TN following an extended illness. A retired inspector from Doyle Shirt Factory and member of Laurel Creek Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Dale Wilson and Mae Minnie Thurston Hollis. She was married to Roy Bert Sparkman who preceded her in death on January 14, 2009. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughter, Winter Joy Crain; grandson, Chris King; sister, Norita Hermerling; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Billy Davis; and brother-in-law, John Mansfield. Mrs. Sparkman is survived by five children and spouses, Movita and Phillip King of McMinnville, TN, Julie and Billy Bradshaw of Murfreesboro, TN, Dale Sparkman of Rock Island, TN, Kevin "Cotton" Sparkman of Bone Cave, TN, and Thomas R. and Jennifer Sparkman of Rock Island, TN; four grandchildren, Kirstin King of McMinnville, TN, Michael Sparkman of Bone Cave, TN, Jacob Sparkman of Spencer, TN, and Gage Sparkman of McMinnville, TN; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marcine Gilbert of East Ridge, TN and Salenda McCullough of Woodbury, TN; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Charlotte Hollis and Chuck and Barb Hollis, both of Illinois; sister-in-law, Betty Sue Mansfield of Nashville, TN; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2022 in High’s Chapel with Roy Terry officiating. Burial will follow in McElroy Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
