Shawn Molloy

Sevierville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Shawn Molloy, age 75, was born November 30, 1948 and died January 8, 2024 at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN following a brief illness. 

A retired optometrist and a member of Great Smoky Mountains Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Brents Edward Craig and Geraldene Valdera Sapp Molloy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Brenda June Molloy; maternal grandparents, Floyd and Irene "Big Momma" Sapp; paternal grandparents, James Logan and Alfreda "Mammie" Molloy and father-in-law, Buford and Lola Mae Bonner.

Dr. Molloy was married to Darlene Bonner Molloy of Sevierville, TN on August 1, 1970. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Meshon (Kevin) Crateau of Knoxville, TN and Jessica (Jeremy) Striz of Fort Mill, SC; son, Dr. Seth Shawn (Brittany) Molloy of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Madison Crateau, Sage Striz, Kennedy Crateau, Pierce Striz, Logan Crateau, Charlotte Molloy and Jaxon Molloy; brother, Kevin (Debbie) Molloy of Murfreesboro, TN and special nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2024 in High’s Chapel with Dr. Seth Shawn Molloy, Rod Amburn, Johnny Newby, Kevin Molloy, Ben Gardenhire and Johnny Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Stroud Cemetery in Warren County, TN. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at High Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Warren County Meals on Wheels.
