Sheila Diana Bell

Sheila Diana Bell, age 75, a McMinnville, TN resident and Huntsville, AL native was born January 3, 1945 and passed June 18, 2020 at St. Thomas Rutherford following an extended illness. She was a retired employee with Carrier Corporation, a member of Westside Baptist Church, and the daughter of the late Gordon Simon and Laura Haley Lemley. Mrs. Bell married John Euwin “J.E.” Bell on February 9, 1977. He preceded her in death on November 13, 2005. She was also preceded in death by sister, Dorothy Judkins; great-grandson, Christopher Allen Bell and two nieces, Linda Lewis, and Libby Watts. Mrs. Bell is survived by daughter, Mary Jane Bell of McMinnville; three sons, John Erwin (Johnnie) Bell of Rossville, GA, Michael Anthony (Rebecca) Bell of Grundy Co., TN, and Randell Allen Bell of McMinnville; grandchildren, Jonathan Erwin (Esa) Bell of Guatemala, Central America, Chelsea Rae Bell of McMinnville, Melissa Lee Bell of McMinnville, Chad Erwin (Grecia) Bell of Lawrence, MA, David (Teri) Myers of McMinnville and Christie (Bobby) Jones of McMinnville; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Elias Bell, Ela Bell, Edward Raymond Bell, Ofelia Violet Bell and Fiona Meredith Bell; nephew, David Owens of AL; several nieces and nephews in McMinnville and beloved cousin, Linda Duncan of AL. She was an avid quilter, making quilts for family and friends. She was a member of the American Legion Post 173 Auxiliary where she served as treasurer. She loved gardening and working with her flowers. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 21, 2020 at Westside Baptist Church with Alan Smith and Nathan Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at High’s. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
