McMinnville, TN resident and Coffee County, TN native Shirley Watley Hobbs, age 85, was born October 3, 1936 and died August 29, 2022 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville following a brief illness.
A retired employee from Magnetek and a member of Morrison Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Lawton and Alice Robison Rogers. She was married to Logan Watley and Douglas Hobbs, both who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by sisters, Etta Mae Lowry and Patsy Baldwin and brothers, J.B. Rogers and Eston Rogers.
Ms. Hobbs is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Linda and James Roller of McMinnville, TN; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Adams of Asbury, TN, Celine and James Bryan of Morrison, TN, Earline McKissick of Chattanooga, TN and Jennifer and Doug McCafferty of Evans, GA and brother, Paul Leon and Sharon Rogers of Manchester, TN.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 1, 2022 in High’s Chapel with Joey Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville, TN. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at High’s.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN, Monroe Carell, Jr. Children's Hospital in Nashville, TN or The Shriner's Hospital for Children in Cincinnati, OH.
