Steven Grey Montgomery

LaVergne, TN resident and Warren County native Steven Grey Montgomery, age 59, was born February 17, 1964 and died suddenly August 17, 2023 at his residence. A retired employee of Vanderbilt University Hospital and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of Eucle Mai Montgomery Duggin of McMinnville and the late Bobby Montgomery. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by father-in-law, Andrew Anderson. He was married to Valarie Montgomery of LaVergne, TN on January 25, 1991. In addition to his wife, Mr. Montgomery is survived by step-father, Thomas Duggin of McMinnville; sisters, Beverly Montgomery of Mt. Juliet, TN and Adelia Montgomery of Smyrna, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Wendy Montgomery of Crossville, TN; nieces and nephews, Kari Mullican, Josh Mullican, Nick Delgado, Drew Delgado, Emilie Dickson, Garrett Montgomery and Billy and Ryan Benedict; numerous other nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Gail Anderson of LaVergne, TN and sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Rene' and Bill Benedict of Summitville, TN, Monica Anderson of Manchester, TN and Laurie and Bob Nickel of LaVergne, TN. Graveside service and interment will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville with Mark Stout and Mr. Montgomery’s friends officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at High’s. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Magness Memorial Library.
