McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Thomas Malcolm Simpson, age 83, was born March 9, 1937 and died December 31, 2020 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN following a brief illness. A United States Air Force veteran, retired from A.O. Smith in repair, and a member of Christ United Methodist Church, he was the son of the late Jesse Bernard and Daisy Cecile Snipes Simpson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Evelyn Simpson and Betty DeBord; and mother-in-law, Mary Frances Hale. He was married to Linda Marie Hale Simpson of McMinnville, TN on May 30, 1969. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children and spouses, Brinda and Allen Buckner and Thomas and Cristy Simpson, both of McMinnville, TN; six grandchildren, Sara Ross and husband, Josh, Cain Buckner, Kade Simpson, Tyler Simpson, Tanner Simpson, and Colter Simpson; great-grandson, Eastlen Ross; great-granddaughter arriving Tuesday, Gracelin Marie Ross; sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and John Lee Downey of Pikeville, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Cecil and Agnes Simpson of Pikeville, TN; special sister-in-law, Brinda Hale of McMinnville, TN; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 4, 2021 in High’s Chapel with Pastor Sommer Worley officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Rock Island, TN. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday and from 12 p.m. until the time of service on Monday at High’s.
