McMinnville resident and Warren County native Tommy Myers, Jr. “PeePaw”, age 63, was born July 19, 1961 and died suddenly on April 20, 2025 at his residence.
Tommy was retired as the sheriff of Warren County and a member of the Baptist church. He was the son of Thomas and Brenda Roberts Myers, Sr. of McMinnville. He began his law enforcement career with the Warren County Sheriff’s Department in 1991 as a jailer and worked his way through the ranks. He ended his career as Chief Deputy for nine years to become the sheriff for his last four before retiring in 2022. Tommy was also a professional motocross racer from the age of 16 to 44. Most importantly, Tommy was a loving husband and father who loved his family and Warren County.
He was married to Chrystal Turner Myers of McMinnville on February 27, 2004. In addition to his wife and parents, Tommy is survived by sons, Clayton (Hannah) Myers and Ty Myers, both of McMinnville; grandchildren, Paisley and Paxton Myers; sister, Debra (Kenny) Thompson of McMinnville; mother-in-law, Joan Turner of McMinnville; father-in-law, Hugh Turner of McMinnville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jeff and Tyra Turner of McMinnville and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Freedom Life Church, 4023 Smithville Highway, McMinnville, TN 37110 with Anthony Campbell, Eric Dodson and Johnny Newby officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at High’s.
Tommy will be honored at the graveside by the Tennessee Highway Patrol Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kids of the Community or Hamilton Street Activity Center.
